when trying to come up with a cake for burvil's 60th anniversary, i realized something really really important: i do not know the favorite cake flavors of my friends.
weigh in, people. even if you never comment, comment now. this is the most important post of our lives. this is information i need to know. (and if you opt for the less awesome alternative, i suppose you may tell us your favorite flavor pie.)

First comment! I would be happy to eat any cake, any time, anywhere, but my absolute favorite is spice cake with vanilla frosting. Because it is like eating all of the best things about fall.
oh bless you! it feels so bold to throw out a survey and then so sad when no one responds! i forget about spice cake. excellent choice. and- as a loather of cream cheese- i applaud the vanilla frosting.
Favorite cake MIX flavors. Bakery flavors are a whole other list. (of course)
1. Chocolate with THICK chocolate buttercream icing.
2. Strawberry (cake of our lives. with strawberry icing. dur.
3. White with crunchy white fondant icing, like wedding cake oh my I need some right now...
I can't choose. I LOVE cake. I don't think there is a flavor I don't like. that's why I had so many flavors at the wedding. if there's a gun to my head I guess I would have to go marble cake batter with buttercream frosting, but pineapple upside down cake is coming in at a close second, with devils food and chocolate frosting taking the bronze.
Oh, CAKE!!! Mine is carrot cake. With nuts. And cream cheese frosting. And a frosting carrot on top.
croftie, what does it say about us that your cake perfectly encapsulates everything i do not like in the baked good world with the exception of coconut?
brownies. or chocolate chip cookies. or cupcakes of the red velvet variety.
i'm drawing a blank. the best i can come up with is chocolate chip cookie "cake" or heaven in a bowl or the coconut cake my co-worker made that was uber uber moist. moist...one of your favorite words! aren't you glad i commented?!
DUDE. i seriously FORGOT about heaven in a bowl. how wrong is that?! we obviously need to be in the same room again pronto. for the big laughs as well as the desserts.
Opposites attract, my friend! You have your cake, I have mine. And we may eat them together while watching Anne of Green Gables.
Yellow cake w chocolate frosting, hands down. Carrot cake is a close second, though. And birthday cake with lots and lots of white frosting and pretty colored decorations...oh, who the hell am I kidding? EAT ALL THE CAKE.
yes. you should come to chicago. we really need cake and anne!
speaking of heaven in a bowl, i really need to introduce you to that marvel. i think you'd be a fan.
fondant frosting! OMG. fondant frosting. seriously, if i could just sit around eating frosting roses all day without there being any consequences, i totally would.
what WERE the flavors of your wedding cake? that's the one thing that makes me think i was drunker than i thought i was- i have absolutely no memory of your cake.
Heaven in a bowl?? I think this demands explanation.
read it and weep: http://www.olineinthecity.com/2010/03/heaven-in-bowl.html
Trade out the peanut butter cookie (allergy!) for chocolate chip and WHOA.
It was set out at the coffee station and an announcement was never made, so naturally only half of the people knew it was there. but they boxed it up,did you not get a piece to go?
we had; marble with custard cream, chocolate with custard creme, chocolate with chocolate mousse, and casada (traditional Italian cake)
oh i got a piece. i just don't remember anything about it. which was, i think, a commentary more on how much i'd had to drink than on how good the cake was. the hot dog, however, i remember fondly.
DO IT. we used to do chocolate chip cookies before we figured that what it was missing was one more flavor.
Forgive my tardiness...just catching up on what I missed for nearly the whole of the month of August. From the prior comments and your responses, I apologize in advance. Carrot cake with walnuts and cream cheese frosting.
