I think Annie Leibovitz was trying to best capture Michelle's face ('cause hon... That is some face). Not saying she isn't pretty but she has got some weird cheekbones that throw everything else off.
no. by shoving someone who at times comes off as threatening and severe into an environment/pose/color/etc evoking an iconic image of a first lady americans automatically interpret as comforting.
there's no way there wasn't a copy of that mark shaw shot at this shoot.

i imagine she can probably do more push-ups than i can. Which is not saying much but then again I defeat foes with finesse, not athleticism.
