the vieve, queen of the bibliotheque, would like to express her sincerest gratitude to mère and père cupcake, whose impending chicago spend-the-night necessitated the long-delayed purchase of her imperial throne.
there is no part of the look on her face that says she has any plans of ever removing herself from the newly christened throne. it actually looks to be saying if you try to move me you find claws in your eyes! now that's sassy.
don't make me have a dewey decimal throwdown. in my house, it's 920. maybe on the other half of my house, it's 92. that seems like a noble compromise, you daughter of a librarian, you!
so maybe i should be whiling away the rainy days behind the lens, staring at sassy cats. words are only worth 10 cents apiece, but photographs speak a thousand words and involve little more than some animal enticing baby talk and a couple lucky clicks. somehow that seems much more respectable.
Caro, you gotta remember my house. The fiction and the non-fiction do not play nice with each other. Fiction is alphabetized by author's last name. Non-fiction is according to Dewey decimal system. I mean ALL non-fiction. College texts, cookbooks, random non-fiction stuff. All Dewey.
No wonder I went nuts when I went to college and they used the Library of Congress system. Called my Mom 'cause I was about to have a heart attack. How could they *not* use Dewey? Sacreligious (or however the heck you spell it).
Ok, Queenie... Here is the final ruling on your Jackie section. 920s are collective biographies (2 or more people). 92s are individual biographies. So, really your Jackie's should NOT be playing nice with each other. That is the Dewey law according to Mama.
that's it. am officially switching to the library of congress system. first thing some day next week. dewey simply has too much drama. he's too high maintenance. why can't all my non-fiction just get along?
I just found out that SpeechPath is sending me to McFarland on my last two days with them. MCFARLAND! WHERE I MET STEVE! This is my hell. I am living in hell.
Oh, demandO. the Only reason i haven't updated was because i was huddled in the cOrner crying big fat crOcOdile tears (Obviously, the Only tears an Oline cOuld cry) that the dread pirate had been sO lOng absent. that he might think me passe. that he might be, perish the thOught, judgOing me. will nOw gO dO sOmething terrifically blOgwOrthy just tO make up fOr it. sO wipe yOur tears, sad pirate. yOu will be updated, demandO. (heavens! why haven't we been writing like this all alOng?!)

yes, the vieve has permenantly taken up residence in the jackie wing of 920. (and it is downright sick that i know the biographical dewey coordinate.)
It's actually 92 and 920. It depends. I'm the daughter of a librarian and that's why I know this.

Another fabulous example of Olikie's pet portraiture. That picture is freaking gorgeous...and quite expressive of the Vieve, I beleive.

or, maybe you should put the vieve to work with the editing! although come to think of it, i've seen her typing skills. nevermind. idea retracted.
her typing skills are scandalous to say the least!
